Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 19, 2026
This policy covers the website cowboysvsorcs.com (the "site"), run by the developers of Cowboys vs Orcs ("we", "us"). It does not cover the game itself, Steam, or Discord, which have their own policies. The short version: we do not ask for your name or email, we do not use cookies, and we do not track you across the web.
What we collect
The site counts a few events as anonymous daily totals: a page visit, a first shot in the teaser, a click on the Steam button, and a click on the Discord button. It also adds up how many orcs visitors have shot, which powers the "orcs taken down worldwide" counter. Each of these is a single number per day. Nothing in these totals is tied to you, your device, or your IP address.
We do not collect your name, email address, account details, precise location, or payment information.
Hosting and server logs
The site is served through Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare receives technical information with every request, such as your IP address and browser type, in order to deliver the site, keep it secure, and prevent abuse. We do not use this to identify you. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Cookies and local storage
We do not use cookies. The site saves two on/off settings in your browser's local storage: whether the sound effects are muted and whether the radio is off. These stay on your device, are never sent to us, and you can clear them in your browser settings at any time.
Third-party links
The site links to Steam and Discord. If you follow those links, the other service's own privacy policy applies and it may collect information about you. We have no control over that. Our Steam link carries a tag showing the click came from this site; it contains no personal information.
We do not run ads, and we do not load analytics, fonts, or scripts from third parties.
Automated and local visits
We skip counting for local development previews and automated browsers. If your browser sends a "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control" signal, we honor it in effect, because we do not track individuals in the first place.
Sharing your data
We do not sell or share personal information, because we do not hold any. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
Retention
Daily totals are kept as long as the site runs. Because they are anonymous, there is nothing to delete for any one person.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or the CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data held about you. Since we do not keep personal data about visitors, there is generally nothing to retrieve, but you are welcome to ask.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
